Some might call it fate, while others might say it was serendipity, but Katie and Matt truly believe the stars aligned to bring them together.

Both Katie and Matt moved to Atlanta in 2015, each chasing their dreams in the commercial real estate industry. On a typical weekday afternoon, they were busy networking, determined to make the right connections. As luck would have it, the person they were both scheduled to meet had double-booked his meetings that day. In a brief but fateful overlap, Katie and Matt locked eyes, shook hands, and exchanged polite introductions before parting ways. They often speak of the instant attraction they felt, but life moved on, and they didn’t cross paths again for another two years.

Their shared love for an active, vibrant lifestyle led both Katie and Matt to make their homes along the Atlanta Beltline. One evening, after a run, Katie was heading back to her apartment when Matt, by sheer coincidence, held the door open for her. They exchanged confused hellos, each recognizing the other but unsure how. It wasn’t until later that evening that Matt put the pieces together and sent Katie a message on LinkedIn, reminding her of their brief meeting during that double-booked lunch two years prior. As fate would have it, Matt had just moved into an apartment four doors down from Katie on the very same floor! Despite this uncanny proximity, their lives continued separately, though each couldn’t help but notice the new “neighborhood eye candy.”

Fast forward another two years, and Katie and Matt's paths crossed yet again at a commercial real estate event—a Sunday race at Talladega. This time, Matt was determined not to let Katie slip away. He was the perfect gentleman, attentive to her every need. He carried her backpack, refilled her drinks, and even offered to help take photos of her and the other female brokers. As the day unfolded, they reminisced about their first meeting and their time as Beltline neighbors. Though they had since moved away, they realized that once again they were neighbors—this time on the opposite side of the city in Chamblee!

The very next day, Matt asked Katie on their first date, and from that point on, their love story truly began. The rest, as they say, is history and now they're getting married!!!
